Dallas Maverick’s standout guard Kyrie Irving suffered a season-ending ACL on his left knee, ESPN reported on Tuesday.

Irving, 32, was injured on a game where he was fouled when he drove to the bow during the first quarter of Monday’s loss 122-98 to Sacramento Kings. He landed difficult on the court, immediately seized his left legs and shouted for help.

Irving stayed in the game to make both free throw before they went out with 2:35 left in the quarter. He is excluded a short time later.

A nine-o’clock All-Star, Irving is an average of 24.7 points, 4.8 returns and 4.6 assists in 50 matches (all starts) this season.

Irving’s injury comes during a turmoil time for Mavericks (32-30), who traded star Luka Doncic to Los Angeles Lakers just more than a month ago. Dallas resides in 10th place in the Western conference.

Anthony Davis, who was obtained in the Doncic trade, received a groin injury on February 8 in his first game and has not played since then. Mavericks has been the recipient of serious backlash over the deal and Dallas fans have often expressed their dissatisfaction with the trade.
