NFL Insider Peter Schrager is in “serious conversations” with ESPN about joining the network, according to a report from Front Office Sports.
Schrager is well known for his role as Co-Host for “Good Morning Football” at the NFL network together with its prelude and side line work for Fox Sports NFL broadcasts. Although a source told FOS that a deal with ESPN has not been completed, “it is likely” that he will make the move.
If so, the 42-year-old Schrag is expected to contribute to many programs throughout the network, including “NFL Live”, Stephen A. Smith’s “First Take” and “Stig Up” with Mike Greenberg. If a deal is completed on time, he can also contribute to ESPN’s coverage of next month’s NFL draft.
Whether Schrager would also bring his podcast “season” with him has not yet been established, according to the report.
Schrager began his career to write for ESPN.com before joining foxsports.com and steadily expanded his role as NFL -inSider to include “Good Morning Football.” He has also authored two books: “Strength of a Champion” with former NFL Linebacker OJ Brigance, and the New York Times Best Seller “Out of the Blue” with former New York Giant’s wide receiver Victor Cruz.
