Report: Padres, Jose Iglesias reaches less league agreement

Infielder Jose Iglesias and San Diego Padres have agreed to a smaller league contract, MLB.com reported on Wednesday.

Iglesias, 35, will receive an invitation to training camp and offer a place on the team’s opening day.

He beat .337 with four homers and 26 RBI in 85 games last season with the New York Mets.

Iglesias is an all-star with Detroit Tigers 2015 and is a career .283 Hitter with 51 Homers and 392 RBI in 1,181 matches with seven teams.

Iglesias beat .317 with four homers and 27 RBI in 28 matches in 2023 with Triple-A El Paso, Padre’s smaller league association.
