Phoenix Suns deals with a bench Jusuf Nurkic and a first round in the 2026 NBA draft to Charlotte Hornets for forward Cody Martin, guard Vasilije Micic and a second round in the same draft, reported ESPN Thursday.
Nurkic became mainly persona non grata with the suns. He has not played for Phoenix since January 7 after starting 23 matches this season.
The 7-foot told the Arizona Republic last month that he had not seen eye to eye with head coach Mike Budenholzer.
“We have no relationship,” Nurkic said at that time. “So it’s good. For me, just be a professional and do the best I can. Work and keep ready for anything, but there is no chaos or to take it to this team. They already have plenty of it . Trying was as professional as I can and work my A- for anything else.
Nurkic, 30, was acquired by Suns on September 27, 2023, in a three -way agreement with Portland Trail Blazers and Milwaukee Bucks, with Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton and Damian Lillard Headliners for the trade.
He has average values of 8.6 points and 9.2 returns during the third season of a four -year, $ 70 million contract which he signed in July 2022 with Trail Blazers.
During his 11th NBA season, Nurkic was the 16th overall choice of the NBA draft 2014. He has played 564 matches (481 starts) with Denver Nuggets (2014-17), Blazers (2017-23) and Suns.
He has a cut average of 12.0 points, 9.0 returns and 2.5 assists per match.
Martin, 29, is an average of 7.8 points and 4.5 returns in 39 matches (eight starts) this season.
He contributes 6.3 points and 3.7 boards in 245 career games (54 starts) since he was elected by Hornets in the second round of the NBA draft 2019.
Micic, 31, is an average of 7.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.4 returns in 36 matches (16 starts) this season.
He has an average of 7.2 points, 4.1 assists and 1.8 returns in 96 career games (37 starts) with Oklahoma City Thunder and Hornets.
