San Francisco Giants Outfielder Jera Encarnacion has a crackled left hand, according to several media reports.

Encarnacion received the injury during Friday’s spring training game while trying to make a catch in the outfield. It was unclear Saturday how much time he will miss.

The 27-year-old was a candidate for being the team’s DH full time this season. He had an excellent spring with two home races and 14 RBI – second in the Cactus League – to go with a .302 slag average.

Miami Marlin’s signed him as an international free agent in 2015. He debuted MLB in 2022. He played in 23 matches and published three home races, 14 RBI and two stolen bases with one .182/.210/.338 Batting line.

As a free agent, he signed a smaller league agreement with Giants in 2024. He appeared in 35 matches for Giants and recorded five home races, 19 RBI and a stolen base with .248/.277/.425 Batting line.
