Houston Texans has acquired the broad recipient Christian Kirk from Jacksonville Jaguars for a 2026 seventh round draft, reported ESPN and Athletic on Thursday.
The election originally belonged to Los Angeles Rams.
On Wednesday, Jaguars announced that they would release Kirk when the NFL Free Agency period starts on March 12. Instead, they found an interested freer in the Texans and continued with the trade.
Kirk, 28, had 379 receiving farms, 27 receptions and a touchdown in eight matches last season before breaking his leg in week 8. He missed the rest of the season and enters the last year of his contract.
The 5-foot-1 Wideout has a hit of $ 16.2 million in 2025 after signing a four-year, $ 72 million contract with Jags 2022. He recorded 84 catches, 1,108 meters and eight touchdowns in his first season with team-all career heights-when Jacksonville won AFC South.
He missed the last five matches of the 2023 season with an oblique injury and the Jaguars did not meet expectations outside the 2024 season and stumbled to a 4-13 record.
Rookie Brian Thomas Jr. Jacksonville led in receiving farms (1 282) and touchdowns (10) 2024 – Cracked the NFL’s top 10 in both categories. Gabe Davis, Parker Washington, Devin Duvernay and Josh Reynolds are also on a depth map as a free agency and the NFL draft strategy.
The Texans have Nico Collins on top of his wide recipient core and it is stupid after that. Stefon Diggs is a free agent and Tank Dell is facing the question mark for the 2025 campaign after suffering a major knee injury in December. He underwent a second operation on Wednesday to repair a broken ACL, after a previous operation to repair other broken ligaments. He is expected to miss the season.
Kirk was selected in the second round of the 2018 draft and spent the first four seasons of his career with Arizona Cardinals, where he published 236 receptions, 2,902 receiving farms and 17 points.
