Resorts World Las Vegas appoints Carlos Castro as NY COO, CFO | Casinos and games

The highest restructuring of a besieged megare resort at Las Vegas Strip continues with the appointment of another high -ranking casino manager.

On Thursday, Resorts World Las Vegas announced that it has appointed Carlos Castro as its new manager and chief financial officer.

Castros Gaming and Hospitality CV includes leadership roles with Hilton Hotels Corp., Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International, including serving as senior vice president and CFO at Aria for more than five years, says Resorts World in a news message.

In his new role, Castro will “lead the plant’s financial strategy, operational and long-term growth initiatives, which ensures continued success as a main hospitality and entertainment destination at the Las Vegas Strip”, the release.

His service with the North Strip property began earlier this week.

“Resorts World Las Vegas is an incredible property, and I’m honored to take on this role,” Castro said. “I look forward to working with our team to drive economic excellence, improve our guest experience and support the continued success of this extraordinary property.”

Castro’s appointment is the latest movement in Resorts World’s C-SUITE review as Casino-Hotel-Hotel of $ 4.3 billion is waiting for a legislative goal submitted this past summer by Nevada Gaming Control Board. In August, Gaming Control Board submitted a complaint of 12 bills against Resorts World and its parent company, Genting Berhad, and claimed a series of failures against money laundering.

In December, Genting announced the establishment of a board to monitor the Las Vegas resort when it tries to go further than previous organizational mistakes. The Board is chairman of Jim Murren, the former CEO and the Chairman of the Board of MGM Resorts International.

“Carlos joins Resorts World Las Vegas at an important time, as we continue to invest in the future of this property and solidify our place as a top level,” Murren said. “His depth of experience in financial leadership and operations will be instrumental when we implement our strategic vision and drive long -term success. We are convinced of his ability to help shape the next phase of growth for the resort world Las Vegas. “

Other board members include AG Burnett, former chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and player lawyer; Michelle Ditondo, a veteran human resources manager who worked at MGM and Caesars Entertainment; And Kong He Tan, Genting President and Coo.

Earlier this month Brian Sandoval, former Nevada Governor, chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission, the state lawyer, US District Court and current president of the University of Nevada, Reno, joined the Resorts World’s Board of Directors.

In January, Alex Dixon was named CEO of Resorts World Las Vegas.

“Carlos brings with him extensive financial and operational expertise that will be invaluable as we continue to raise the resort world Las Vegas,” said Dixon. “His leadership will play a key role in driving financial results, improving operational efficiency and placing the property for long -term growth and innovation.”
