Resorts World Las Vegas employ Jennifer Roberts as Chief Compliance Officer | Casinos and games

Resorts World Las Vegas has appointed a new Chief Compliance Officer, the latest movement in a series of leadership changes invited by the Strip property’s regulatory decay.

Jennifer Roberts will monitor casino’s compliance with the legislation, which includes registration and licensing, anti-money washing and responsible play, according to a news message.

Roberts, 53, last served as Vice President and General Attorney at Wynnbet, the Online Gaming Division in Wynn Resorts Ltd. She is the founder of Roberts Gaming Law Ltd. And has previously held roles as associated director and interim CEO of the UNLVS International Center for Gaming Regulation. She is an adjunct professor at both UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law and SJ Quinny College of Law at the University of Utah.

“I am proud to join this star team of professionals and help drive the continued development of a best in the class’s compliance program here at Resorts World Las Vegas,” Roberts said in the publication.

Last month, Resorts World and its parent company, Genting Berhad, decided a disciplinary complaint with several bills with Nevada Gaming Regulators for $ 10.5 million-the second largest fine in the state’s history-allow individuals with ties to illegal book creation to play in the casino. As part of the settlement, Resorts World agreed to carry out stricter anti-money-washing records, revise its compliance program and expose it to state review and make leadership changes.

Since the state complaint was submitted in August, Genting, the Malaysia-based conglomerate that owns and operates Strip Hotel-Casino, has abandoned its Las Vegas executive team and appoints Alex Dixon as the CEO in January. Carlos Castro was appointed Chief Operating Officer and CFO the following month.

Dixon said that Robert’s “Deep expertise in gaming rights and understanding of the casino regulation environment makes her uniquely positioned to continue our efforts to build and maintain a robust, world -class compliance.”

Robert’s responsibility will include leading the property’s “compliance organization, the spearhead for designing, development and implementation of programs and policies,” and helping to identify and manage compliance risks, conducting operational assessments and ensuring continuous testing and monitoring to maintain the highest standards in a developing regulation, “according to the relevant regulation,”

“Integrity, commitment and ethics are critical components of the culture of Resorts World Las Vegas, and Jennifer will play a key role to further strengthen our compliance program, which ensures that it is appropriately designed, resource, tested and the power to promote a survival culture,” said Dixon.
