Bobby Witt Jr met a 10th inning sacrificial fly when the visiting Kansas City Royals snapped a six-match losing line with a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday afternoon.

Mark Canha and Drew Waters each had two hits and one RBI for Royals. Vinnie Pasquantino drove in the second driving and Carlos Estevez (1-0) beat the last two rounds to win the victory.

Starter Michael Wacha gave up two runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 rounds. He knocked out five and no one went.

Detroits Tarik Skubal, which did not give up a run in his two previous starts, allowed two runs and seven hits in five rounds. He knocked out four and went one.

Zach McKinstry had three hits and two RBI and Kerry Carpenter delivered three hits with an RBI for Detroit.

Royals generated two runs in the other. Maikel Garcia, Hunter Renfroe and Pasquantino rapped consecutive singles to score a run. With two out, water struck in the second run with another single.

Detroit band it 2-2 in the fifth. Colt Keith and Trey Sweeney had back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners. After Javier Baez beat out and Gleyber Torres splashed out, carpenters hit the right to take home Keith. McKinstry then singled to the center to score Sweeney.

With Daniel Lynch IV on Haugen on the seventh, Tiger got the lead. Baez led off with a single and Torres met in a Fielder’s choice. Carpenter hit a single before McKinstry knocked in Torres with a single on the left. John Schreider replaced Lynch and went Torkelson to charge the bases. Riley Greene was founded in a double game to leave the score 3-2.

Royal tied it in eighth against Tommy Kahnle. Witt reached a two-base error by Baez and scored on Canha’s single to the center.

Kansas City took a lead of 4-3 on the 10th. Waters, the automatic runner, moved to the third on a foundation and scored on Witt’s sacrificial fly.

Ryan Kreidler, Detroit’s automatic runners, moved to third on Torkelson’s one-out airball. Greene went intentionally before Dillon Dingler jumped out to finish the game.
