Jack Quinn and Alex Tuch made Shootout to give the host Buffalo Sabers a 4-3 come-from-bakom victory over Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday.
Rasmus Dahlin made on a timer from just inside the blue line with 14 seconds left in control to bind things 3-3 and send the game to overtime.
After a speechless extra session, former Saber Victor Olofsson gave Vegas Shootout lead after Adin Hill stopped Buffalo’s first attempt. However, the Golden Knights would not score again when Quinn and Tuch lifted the sabers to victory.
Ryan McLeod and Jason Zucker made each one in regulation for Sabers, who only won the second time in nine matches. Bowen Byram had two assists and Ukka-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 16 shots.
Brett Howden, Pavel Dorofeyev and Jack Eichel delivered the goals in regulation for Golden Knights, while Hill finished with 34 rescues.
Howden gave Vegas a 1-0 lead with 7:53 left in the first period.
Buffalos Jiri Kulich went to the dressing room and did not come back after taking a huge hit from Howden in the middle of the other. Buffalos Peyton Krebs immediately defended his teammate, and he and Kulich fought. Krebs received the extra less penalty to start, in addition to the five -minute battle that Major was evaluated to each player, which gave Golden Knights a power play.
Dorofeyev made it 2-0, with 7:54 left in the middle period. It was Dorofeyev’s 27th goal and third in three matches.
But it only took seven seconds for McLeod to put Buffalo on the scoreboard. He beat Hill from the left circle on a game directly outside the middle-ice after Dorofeyev’s goal. It snapped Hill’s shut -off line in over 98 minutes.
Zucker’s Power-Play goal 9:53 in the third period band 2-2. He scored from the track after intercepting Vegas defender Alex Pietrangelo’s clearing attempt behind the net. It was Zucker’s team-leading 10th Power-Play goal.
Eichel gave Golden Knights a 3-2 lead with 2:33 left when he put a loose puck from a goalie.
Sabers Josh Norris did not play because of an unclear injury.
