The Seattle Seahawks released offensive tackle George Fant, outside Linebacker Dre’mont Jones, defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris and the security of Rayshawn Jenkins on Tuesday.
The movements were combined to save the Seahawks approximately $ 27.25 million against the lid, according to the Seattle Times.
Fant, 32, began his career in Seattle and returned in 2024 after Stints with New York Jets (2020-22) and Houston Texans (2023). But his reunification was injured by injuries. He started on the right tackle in week 1, suffered a knee injury and spent half the season on damaged reserve. He came back to start week 9, just to aggravate the injury and miss the rest of the season.
Fant made 26 starts on the offensive line in his 48 career look with Seahawks (2016, 2018-19, 2024). He has played in 101 career games, starting 75.
Jones, 28, spent two seasons in Seattle and started 16 of 17 matches in 2023 before losing his starting role halfway through the 2024 campaign. He compiled 77 tackles and 8.5 bags in 34 matches for Seattle after starting his career in Denver (2019-22), where he started 29 of his 56 performances and collected 133 tackles and 22 bags.
Seattle acquired Roberston-Harris, 31, from Jacksonville Jaguars just before the trade deadline in 2024 in exchange for a draft of the sixth round. He played 11 matches for Seattle in a spare role and did not record a bag after having two in six matches for Jaguars.
The veteran spent time with Chicago Bears (2017-20) before going to Jaguars (2021-24). He has 211 career tackles and 19 sacks in 117 games (62 starts).
Jenkins, 31, made nine starts in 13 performances for the Seahawks in his lone season with the club. He had a pile of career two sacks and in week 5 a fumble 102 meters returned for a touchdown.
