Sec Freshman of Year Tre Johnson leaves Texas for NBA

Three Johnson broke one of Kevin Durant’s records in Texas. Now Johnson will follow Durant as a player who spent only a year with Longhorns before entering the NBA.

Johnson, Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Year, announced that he explained to the draft.

The 6-foot-6 guard led Sec in points per match (19.9) -Arable the sixth beginner to lead the conference in the category and minutes per match (34.7) at the same time as 3.1 returns and 2.7 assists. He shot 39.7 percent from 3-point intervals, good for others at the conference.

Against Arkansas on February 26, Johnson counted 39 points to break Durant’s program record for most points by a beginner in a game.

Johnson helped Texas end with a record 19-16 and lost to Xavier in the first four part of the NCAA tournament.
