After his third straight loss, Ole Miss will improve his defense.

The rebels will try to tighten things at the end of the floor Saturday when they host the Southeastern Conference -Rival Oklahoma in Oxford, Miss.

Ole Miss (19-9, 8-7 SEK) comes from his worst defensive show during second-year coach Chris Beard, which falls 106-76 Wednesday evening at No. 1 Auburn. It allowed 11 3 points in 21 trials and allowed at least 50 points in each half, the standard for poor defense.

“Just non -existent defense from Ole Miss,” said Beard. “It’s not just the players. It’s all in the program.”

Defense was a question in February for the rebels, which allow 70.5 points per match but were affected for 80 or more four different times a month. It included home losses to Auburn and Mississippi State, as well as a victory over Kentucky where Ole Miss only committed a turnover and exceeded Wildcats 98-84.

Six players on average double -digit scorings for the rebels, led by Sean Pedulla’s 14.8 points. He finished with 14 points and four assists at Auburn.

While the rebels are looking for their 20th victory, Sooners (17-11, 4-11) are trying to strive for more than nit. Their 83-82 home loss Wednesday evening against No. 17 Kentucky added a missed opportunity when they coughed a late lead.

Oklahoma made 52.6 percent of its field target attempts, including 10 out of 25 from the 3-point area, and got a 34-31 edge on the boards. Making the result worse was that one of its former players, Otega Oweh, scored a game -high 28 points and preserved the game -winning shot with six seconds left.

“You have to tip your hats,” said Sooner’s coach Porter Moser. “I thought Kentucky, and then I thought Otega did some just absolute huge gigs along the route.”

Oklahoma is offensively led by Jalon Moore (17.1 points), who had 20 against Kentucky, and beginner Jeremiah fear (16 points).

The Sooners owns a 3-2 lead in the series, although this is the team’s first matchup as Sec Rivals.
