Spring Training Roundup: Brave’s pitchers overwhelming phillies

Five Atlanta-Pitcher spread four hits and appointed Hitter Marcell Ozuna provided power with a two-run home run when host Braves turned off Philadelphia Phillies 7-0 on Thursday in spring training in North Port, FLA.

Raisel Iglesias (1-0) won the victory with a perfect fourth round, then Zach Thompson allowed two hits while he went three in the last five rounds to gather his first rescue of spring. Starter Hector Neris, Daysbel Hernandez (four strikes in 1 1/3 rounds) and Aaron Bummer combined to work the first three rounds.

Ozuna beat his third Homer in the spring with the fifth inning shot, and teammate Chadwick Tromp drove in three runs on a foundation in the fourth and a single in the fifth. Michael Harris II was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run that Braves amounted to 11 hits.

Phillies starter Nabil Crisatt (1-1) took the loss after giving one run and three hits in three rounds. Cal Stevenson and Johan Rojas beat double.

Blue Jays 4, radiates 1

New acquisition Anthony Santander went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a drive worth Toronto down Tampa Bay in Dunedin, FLA.

Zach Dezenzo was 3-for-4 with an RBI double, Jake Meyers hit a 409-foot two-run Homer and Zack Short threw a 430-foot two-run blast and an RBI double for Astros. Josh Hader (1-0) went 1 1/3 rounds in serving the victory.

Marlins starter Janson Junk (0-1) gave a drive, one hit and two walks with three strikes in 3 2/3 rounds to take the loss. Griffin Conine and Jack Winkler doubled among Miami’s five hits.
