The 2027 Open Championship will take place on the Old Course in St. Andrews in Scotland.

The Royal & Ancient Golf Club confirmed on Thursday that the 155th edition of golf’s oldest major will be at the “Home of Golf” from July 15-18, 2027.

The Open was last held on the historic links course in 2022, when Australia’s Cameron Smith rallied to win the 150th edition of the tournament.

“I am extremely pleased to be making this my first announcement at the R&A,” said new R&A chief Mark Darbon. “I look forward to The Open returning to St. Andrews as much as the fans and the players. There is something special about The Open being played on the Old Course and so many of the great champions have walked these fairways since then. The first set here 1873.”

St. Andrews has hosted The Open 30 times dating back to 1873.

The 2027 tournament will mark the 100th anniversary of amateur Bobby Jones’ successful title defense in 1927.

The next two openings will be held at Royal Portrush in 2025 and Royal Birkdale in 2026.
