Dallas Stars defender Miro Heiskanen could miss the opening round for the playoffs because of his knee injury, said head coach Pete Deboer Tuesday.
Heiskanen, 25, has been lately led since January 28 after his left knee was injured in a collision with Vegas Golden Knights forward Mark Stone. He had a knee surgery on February 4th.
“It’s a realistic opportunity,” said Deboer, when asked if the return of Heiskan can take place in the second round of the Western conference.
Heiskanen has 25 points (five goals, 20 assists) in 50 matches this season while logging a team best 25:10 of the ice age.
Since he has been chosen by Dallas with No. 3 Overall elections in the NHL draft 2017, Heiskanen has registered 283 points (58 goals, 225 assists) in 475 career games in seven seasons.
