“In recent weeks I have had no choice but to get more serious about it,” he said. “I have been contacted by people at Capitol Hill. I have no desire to be a politician, but I have decided that I will no longer close that door.

“If it comes at the end of 2026, 2027, where I look at this country and think it is an absolute mess and there is legitimate reason to believe … that I really have a legitimate shot to win the US chair – I will not exclude it.”

Smith added that he could run a campaign on crime and stated that he has no political record and could follow lifelong politicians and their poor records.

“I have no desire to be a politician. My life is pretty good,” Smith said. “But I will no longer close the door.”

Just last month, ESPN Smith made one of the highest paid personalities in sports media when he signed an extension of $ 100 million.
