Phoenix Suns will be desperate to give their play-in jumps when they host the red hot Houston Rockets on Sunday.

Phoenix (35-39), who has lost its last two matches, is 11th Western Conference, a game behind both Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings, which are bound for ninth place. Two of these three teams probably seem to fill the last two quay sites in the Play-in tournament.

Suns missed an opportunity to shoot past Dallas to 10th place on Friday when they lost 124-109 to Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis.

Kevin Durant got 23 points, but his colleague Superstar Devin Booker was held at 10 and matched his season lay.

With Bradley Beal who lacked his sixth straight match due to a left hamstrings injury, the second year guard Collin Gillespie rose with career piles of 22 points and 10 assists in 26 minutes.

Durant is an average of 26.8 points per match to be the league’s sixth leading goal score this season, and Bookers 25.3 average ranks him 10th, but no other sun is in the top 50.

If Gillespie can continue to provide a real third offensive alternative – especially if Beal’s injuries continue – it will strengthen Suns in their struggle to climb the position.

“Collin was amazing,” Durant said. “(I) wish we could have a win for him. It would have been even better, but it is a good running well and will build more confidence.

“I don’t know what the position looks like right now, but it doesn’t look good for us-we are out of play-in. But as professionals we have to come back and work and figure it out as good as we can. It’s part of the job, so I look forward to the next game.”

Phoenix has lost its last three meetings with Houston, including both games this season.

Suns coach Mike Budenholzer knows that his site must compete and perform better, both offensively and defensively, to limit the rockets.

“We have to perform at both ends,” he said. “We have to stop, we have to get out and run. We have to share it. We have to play together. We just have to play good basketball no matter who we play.”

Houston (48-26) has won 11 of its last 12 excursions to Catapult to the second place in the west and moved 1 1/2 play away from Denver Nuggets.

Rockets maintained its fantastic last stretch on Thursday when they comfortably stood for Utah Jazz on the road 121-110.

The Alperen Sengun published 33 points and 10 returns and Jalen Green contributed 21 points.

“They are a young squad that exploits opportunities,” said Houston coach Ime Udoka. “There are many guys in and out of our range. Some of the veterinarians missing, young guys compensate for it with effort and playing hard.

“As always this time of year, guys play for something, their future, regardless of case.”

Green Average 21.5 points to lead Rocket’s points while Sengun gives 19.2 points and a team best 10.5 returns per match.
