Thieves, Faze goes to the final final in step 1 major

Los Angeles Thieves and Atlanta Faze cruised to 3-0 sweeps on Saturday to put up a battle in the upper console in Call of Duty League’s Stage 1 Major in Madrid.

Los Angeles took Skyline Hardpoint 250-236, Red Card Search & Destroy 6-4 and Protocol Control 3-2 to crush Miami heretics. Atlanta was also challenged on each map, but it still managed to get past Toronto Ultra thanks to victories at Vault Hardpoint (237-236), Protocol Search & Destroy (6-3) and Hacienda Control (3-1).

The 12 Call of Duty League team started playing in Stage 1 Major on Thursday, with the sowing was determined by four weeks’ qualified matches. The eight best teams from qualification landed in the upper console in the double-elimination tournament, while the four lower ones were assigned the lower bracket.

All matches are the best out of five until the big final on Sunday, which will be the best of seven.

The quarter final in the lower bracket was also questioned on Saturday, with Carolina Royal Raven as the edge Toronto 3-2 and Miami beat the Minnesota Rokkr with the same score.

Carolina quickly got up 2-0 before releasing vault control 3-2 and Hacienda Hardpoint 250-209. However, the Royal Raven snuff Ultra’s rally through a 6-4 victory on Protocol Search & Destroy.

The heretics started with a victory 250-187 at Skyline Hardpoint before they switched losses and win during the next three maps. When it came to the crucial fifth map, Red Card Search & Destroy, Miami Limeda Limed 6-5.

ROKKR released Cloud9 New York 3-1 in round 2 of the lower console before their meeting with the heretics.

Stage 1 Major will end on Sunday with four matches:

-Los Angeles Thieves vs. Atlanta Faze (Final Final)

-Carolina Royals Ravens vs. Miami Heretics (semi -finals with lower console)

-Loses of the final cassette finals versus winners of the semi -finals in lower console (final (lower console)

-Winner of the final final versus winner of the final in the lower console (Grand Final)

Step 1 Major Prize Pool:

1. $ 150,000, 100 CALL OF Duty League points

2. $ 90,000, 75 points

3. $ 60,000, 60 points

4. $ 30,000, 45 points

5-6. $ 15,000, 30 points – Toronto Ultra, Minnesota Rokkr

9-12. No money, no points – Los Angeles Guerrillas M8, Vegas Falcons, Vancouver Surge, Boston Breach
