Johni Broome collected 19 points with 14 returns and six assists when Auburn surpassed Rival Alabama 94-85 on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala., In the first Southeastern Conference match between the Associated Press’ top two teams.

Denver Jones added 16 points for the highest-ranked tigers (23-2, 11-1 sec), which resisted a second half rally of No. 2 Crimson Tide (21-4, 10-2) to seize sole possession of first place in the conference.

Mark Sears Netta 18 points and Grant Nelson Parade 12 points with 12 boards to lead Alabama, who went from the subsequent 59-45 with 13:43 left in the game to bind it twice with less than eight minutes to play.

South Carolina (10-15, 0-12) faded after a quick start. Gamecocks made 12 of their first 17 shots and shot 44 percent (22 out of 50) for the game. Jacobi Wright led South Carolina with 13 points, while Nick Pringle and Collin Murray-Boyles added 12.

No. 3 Duke 106, Stanford 70

Tyrese Proctor scored 23 points and the Blue Devils ran away from the visiting Cardinal in Durham, NC, for their second straight victory after their 16-match winning row was snapped.

Cooper flag chipped in with 19 points and six assists and Khaman Maluach scored 17 points on 8-for-9 shooting for Duke (22-3, 14-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), which matched most points that got third-year coach Jon Scheyer .

Maxime Raynaud poured 18 of its 19 points during the first half for Stanford (16-10, 8-7). Oziyah sellers had 11 points and Donavin Young noted 10.

No. 5 Tennessee 81, Vanderbilt 76

Zakai Zeigler scored 22 points, all in the second half, to help the volunteers to collect from 16 down and avoid a seasonal sweep in Commodore’s hands in Knoxville, Tenn.

Zeigler shot 7 out of 9 in total during the second half after missing both their attempts during the first half. He added eight assists for the volunteers (21-5, 8-5 Southeastern Conference), which avenge a loss of 76-75 to Commodores on January 18.

Jason Edwards Paced Vanderbilt (17-8, 5-7) with 24 points and shot 6 out of 10 beyond the arch. Devin McGlockton (11.2 points per match) was held speechless and played only 18 minutes after coming in early foul problems.

Milos Uzan scored a season high 19 points to help Cougars rally for a victory over the Wildcats host in the Big 12 game. The victory gave the first place Houston (21-4, 13-1) a two-game lead over Arizona (17-8, 11-3) in the conference race.

Cougars connected at 43.1 percent from the field and was 5-AV-17 (29.4 percent) behind the bow while they won for the 17th time during the last 18 games. LJ Cryer added 15 points for Houston in the first meeting between National Powers since both programs joined Big 12. Houston owns the country’s longest active road -winning line in 11 matches.

Caleb Love recorded 17 points and seven assists and KJ Lewis added 13 points for Wildcats, who lost their second straight match after winning 13 of their previous 14 games. Wildcats fell to 11-2 at home this season.

No. 16 Wisconsin 94, No. 7 Purdue 84

John Tonje scored 21 of his 32 points in the second half to lift Badgers over Boilermakers in West Lafayette, Ind. Tonje made 10 out of 15 shots from the floor-inclusive 4 out of 9 from 3-point interval to compensation A 30-point performance of Purdue’s Trey Kaufman-Renn, which fell 12 of 16 shots and had five assists and four returns.

No. 10 Iowa State 81, Cincinnati 70

Curtis Jones scored 22 points and made all 12 of his free throwing when Cyclones topped Bearcats in their BIG 12 conference Matchup in Ames, Iowa.

Joshua Jefferson added 13 points and seven returns for Iowa State (20-5, 10-4 Big 12), who won their third straight match after losing the previous three in a row. Milan Momcilovic made 12 and Tamin Lipsey ended with 11. Iowa State published an advantage of 37-19 on the glass, including a 12-5 edge in offensive returns. The cyclones outcore Cincinnati 17-2 in other chance points.

Jizzle James scored 25 points on 9-AV-16 shooting to lead Bearcats (15-10, 5-9), whose winning line with three games ended. Day day Thomas chipped in 13 points.

No. 11 Michigan State 79, Illinois 65

Jaxon Kohler got a career pile of 23 points and took 10 returns when the Spartans gave coach Tom Izzo his record setting 354th Big Ten-victory with a victory over Fighting Illini in Champaign, ill.

JT Toppin poured 32 points and took 12 returns when Red Raiders rolled to a simple victory over the rolling cowboys in Stillwater, Okla.

The Red Raiders (20-5, 11-3 Big 12) led by 19 points after a dominant first half and never let up, opened the second half with an 8-0 driving, eventually the lead extended to 36.

Toppin has received a combined 94 points in Tech’s last three matches. Marchelus Avery’s 13 points led Cowboys (12-13, 4-10) in the loss, their second straight and third in the last four matches.

Texas 82, No. 15 Kentucky 78

Three Johnson poured a career pile of 32 points, eight of them in the last 3 1/2 minutes, when Longhorn’s roared to upset the 15th ranked wildcat in an important Southeastern Conference game in Austin, Texas.

Texas (16-10, 5-8 SEK) dragged with five with 3:51 to play but jumped for good through a 14-1 driving. Johnson, Longhorn’s beginner Phenon, also took a team-high nine returns and Tramon Mark made 26 when Longhorn’s snapped a three-game losing line. Texas played without Arthur Kaluma, its second leading goal scorer and top rebonder.

Otega Oweh led Kentucky with 20 points while Amari Williams added 18 and 12 returns and Lonley Almonor had 11 points. Wildcats (17-8, 6-6), which lacked the next leading point Jaxson Robinson and Lamont Butler due to injuries, had a two-game winning line snapped.

Utah 74, No. 17 Kansas State 67

Gabe Madsen scored 24 points to help out to defeat the Jayhawks in Salt Lake City and highlighted the team’s first victory over a ranked enemy this season.

Otherwise lost their first three matches against teams in the top 25, but they never hit the Jayhawks (17-8, 8-6 Big 12). Kansas has changed profits and losses during the last eight matches in total.

Utah (14-11, 6-8) also received 12 points from Ezra Ausar and 10 points and 12 returns from Jake Wahlin. Kansas was led by Zeke Mayo, who finished with 15 points. Dajuan Harris Jr. added 14 and Hunter Dickinson chipped in 12 to walk with seven boards.

No. 22 Mississippi State 81, No. 19 Ole Miss 71

RJ Melendez scored 17 points to lead a balanced score and Bulldogs defeated the rebels in Oxford, Miss, to swipe the season series from its rivals in the state.

Josh Hubbard added 14 points and Riley Kugel made 11 for Bulldogs (18-7, 6-6 Southeastern Conference), which had dropped three of his last four.

Jaylen Murray got 14, Sean Pedulla had 13 and Jaemyn Brakefield added 10 for the rebels (19-7, 8-5), which had won three in a row but was outscored 54-40 during the last 23 1/2 minutes.

No. 21 Missouri 87, Georgia 74

Anthony Robinson II collected 15 points, seven assists, five returns and four steals, and helped the Tigers win a victory over Bulldogs in the Southeastern Conference Play in Athens, GA.

Caleb Grill added 15 points and four steals, while Mark Mitchell had 14 for Missouri (19-6, 8-4 SEK), who won his second straight match. Tamar Bates chipped in 13 points for Tigers, which surpassed Georgia 49-33 during the second half.

Asa Newell led Georgia (16-10, 4-9) with 23 points and 10 returns. Silas Demary Jr. Got 16 and Blue Cain had 14 when the bulldogs dropped their third in a row.

No. 23 Clemson 72, Florida State 46

Dillon Hunter netted a career pile of 17 points when the growing tigers broke into a 72-46 Atlantic Coast Conference Rout by Seminoles in Tallahassee, FLA.

The sixth leading painter for Clemson (21-5, 13-2 ACC) at 5.6 points per match, Hunter scored 7 out of 11 shots, including 3 out of 6 from 3-point intervals, for his fifth two-digit performance this season. Ian Schieffelin produced 14 points and 12 returns to hack his 10th double double for Tigers, who won for the ninth time in the last ten races and moved to 6-1 on the road in ACC games. Clemson’s top score, Chase Hunter (17.6 ppg), counted only three points but had four of the team’s 10 steal.

Jamir Watkins had 14 points and matched Taylor Bol Bowen’s team-leading seven returns for Florida State (15-10, 6-8). Daquan Davis added nine points and Malique Ewin paired six points with six boards.
