It was a day of blows at Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major on Friday, as all three matches to open week 2 saw 3-0 sweeps.
Two of the matches saw clubs raise their first victories by the event-Miami Heretics and Carolina Royal Ravens-but in today’s final match Cloud9 New York improved to 2-1.
Stage 2 Major Qualifying Round consists of 12 teams, with each who played seven qualified matches until March 16 to determine sowing for the scene 2 big playoffs, scheduled for March 20-23 in Dallas.
On Friday, Royal Raven opened the game with a 3-0 victory over Minnesota and handed over ROKKR its first loss in three matches. Carolina won 250-198 at Skyline Hardpoint since 6-5 on Red Card search and destroys before removing the match with a 3-1 victory on protocol control.
Miami then met his colleague Winless Club Los Angeles Guerrilla’s M8 and won with almost identical points such as the Carolina-Minnesota match: 250-193 on Vault Hardpoint, 6-5 on protocol search and destruction and 3-1 on protocol control.
Finally, Vegas Falcons became the first team that falls to 0-3 when they lost to Cloud9 New York, 250-105 on Protocol Hardpoint, 6-4 on Skyline search and destroyed and 3-1 on protocol control.
Week 2 continues Saturday with four matches with another three planned for Sunday.
