Five-star forward Caleb Wilson, the top-rated 2025 uncommitted recruit, announced late Thursday that he will play at North Carolina.
The 6-foot-9 player from Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School in Atlanta made the announcement on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” studio show. His other finalists were Kentucky and Ohio State.
In the end, Tar Heels coach Hubert Davis made the difference for Wilson.
“I just looked at who the coach was – I was able to build a good relationship with him – looked at the roster and also saw how much the coach believed in me in the time he knew me,” Wilson said on the show, adding: “I bring my talents to Chapel Hill.”
The 247Sports composite ranks Wilson as the No. 3 power forward and No. 6 overall prospect in the class.
He joins a recruiting class that includes Washington (DC) Gonzaga guard Derek Dixon and Davidson (NC) Day guard Isaiah Denis, both ranked in the top 10 at guard combo. The composite ranks North Carolina’s incoming class No. 7 in the nation.
Wilson is averaging 24 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 3.6 blocks and 2.5 steals per game during his senior season, per 247Sports.
