Team Vitality and Natus Vincere won their respective groups on Tuesday and dressed Bye in the playoffs Semifinalen in Intel Extreme Master Katowice event in Poland.
On the last day of the group phase, vitality swept Virtus.Pro 2-0 in the group a final final and Natus Vincere defeated Mongolz with the same point to win Group B.
Virtus.Pro and Mongolz had already been guaranteed the playoffs due to their top-two group finish. The other two teams that qualified for the playoffs were Eternal Fire and Team Spirit, the latter of which had to win twice Tuesday to pass third place in Group B.
Group games contained 16 teams divided into two double elimination consoles, with all matches best-of-three. The two group phase winners advanced directly to the playoffs semi -finals, the two group phase runners moved to the quarter finals as high seeds, and the two third place the team made the quarter final as low seeds.
Playoffs will be single elimination, with the best-to-three matches for the quarter finals and the semi-final before a best-of-five grand final on Sunday. The master will earn $ 400,000.
On Tuesday, Vitality made 13-8 victory on Anubis and a 13-5 on Inferno to defeat Virtus.Pro. French star Mathieu “Zywoo” Herbaut led vitality with 32 kills and a plus-13 kill-to-death differential.
In the group defeated a final with a lower console, eternal fire Faze 2-0 dramatically. After a 13-4 victory on Anubis, they went deep into overtime before pulling out a 25-22 victory at Nuke. Ismailcan “Xantares” Dortkardes (57 kills, plus-14) and Engin “May3r” Cupeli (53 kills, plus-14) paced the all-Turkish eternal fire group.
The group B-final saw Natus Vincer beat Mongolz 13-3 on Mirage and 13-9 in ancient. Ukraine’s Valeriy “B1T” Vakhovskiy published 35 kills and one plus-15 kd for Navi, and three of his teammates finished with 30 kills.
In the group B lower console, Gamerlegion Astralis swept 13-7 at Nuke and 13-7 again at Mirage. Team Spirit also advanced by beating Team Liquid 13-10 on Nuke and 13-8 on Dust II.
When they met in the final in the lower bracket, Gamerlegion first beat with a result of 13-11 on Anubis, but Spirit gathered by winning 13-6 at Antique and 13-4 at Nuke.
Danil “Donk” Kryshkovets of Russia had 55 kills and a plus-14 and countryman Dmitry “Sh1ro” Sokolov had 50 kills on a plus-18 for spirit. Fredrik “Rez” Sterner of Sweden led Gamerlegion in defeat with 43 kills on a plus-1.
