Golden State star Stephen Curry went through a MRI late Thursday night after leaving Warriors’ 117-114 victory over Toronto Raptors with what the team called a pelvic contusion.
Late in the third quarter of the game in San Francisco, Curry dribbled into the lane and was looking to make a pass when he collided with two Toronto defenders and fell on his tail area.
Curry left the game and didn’t come back.
After Golden State gathered during the fourth quarter to win, said Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr about Curry, “he tried to come back (into the competition). He thought he might be able to come back. We just decided not to risk anything. Hopefully it is not bad.”
Curry wound up with 17 points in 25 minutes when Warriors won for the ninth time in 10 games. Golden State is 16-3 since he did a trade for Jimmy Butler III, who had a triple double against Toronto.
In 60 matches this season, curry is an average of 24.2 points, 4.4 returns and 6.0 assists.
The 11 o’clock All-Star, the four-o’clock NBA champion and two-o’clock most valuable players have career average of 24.7 points, 4.7 returns and 6.4 assists. He is the NBA leader for all the time in 3-pointers (4,008) and free throw percentage (91.1 percent).
