Wild Place Joel Eriksson Ek on IR

Joel Eriksson Ek suffered a lower bodily injury in practice on Monday and was placed on damaged reserve Tuesday.

According to Athletic, 28-year-old Eriksson Ek could miss “significantly longer” than the necessary week.

Also on Tuesday, the wild forward Jakub Lauko activated from damaged reserve.

The Wild is currently short -handed at the front position, with Kirill Kaprizov on the side of many of the past two months. Ryan Hartman is also halfway through an eight-game suspension.

The Wild is in third place in the Central Division entering Tuesday, four points behind the Dallas stars in second place.

This is the latest injury this season for Eriksson Ek, which has been limited to 42 matches due to injury. He has 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) but has missed 15 matches.
