Without Super Bowl, Södra Nevada’s tourism in February, the numbers are dropping. Casinos and games

The southern Nevada game and tourist leaders have discovered the disadvantage of hosting a Super Bowl – it is practically impossible to keep tactically in the coming years.

It was the story of February visits and game winnings that were released on Monday by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Nevada Gaming Control Board.

The visit fell 11.9 percent from February 2024 with the game win 13.8 percent on the strip for the month.

Experts said there were two main factors, so virtually every statistical category was down from last year. In addition to Södra Nevada having a blockbuster month in February 2024 when Allegiant Stadium hosted the Super Bowl 58, the calendar shortened all during a day with last year and enjoyed 29 days a month for leaps compared to 28 this year.

“With the combined factors in a tough comparison with last year when the Super Bowl 58 was held in the destination, a net reduction in the convention segment fell for rotation cycles, and a fewer day on the calendar compared to the 2024 -expansion year, the visit fell under 3 million by the month,” said Kevin Bagger, head of LVA.

Bagger said that almost every tourism indicator in February was below 2024 levels.

The visitor volume was just under 3 million. The Convention’s presence decreased by 19.5 percent to 615,400. The hotel occupancy was of 3.4 percentage points to 80.5 percent. The average daily room price fell 25 percent to $ 186.16 per night. And the number of occupied room evenings fell 10.7 percent to 3.4 million.

Harry Reid International Airport reported on Friday 7.5 percent fewer passengers – 4 million – used Las Vegas primary airport. Only a handful of airlines had more passengers in February than last year. The six best commercial air traffic companies had fewer passengers in February this year than last, with market leader Southwest Airlines down 5.9 percent to 1.5 million and no 2 Spirit Airlines from 21.8 percent to 452,738.

On the game side, the control board on Monday reported that the Clark County victory fell by 9.7 percent to $ 1.06 billion. The strip rose to $ 690.3 million was not even the worst reduction in percent. The questionable glory went to South Lake Tahoe, a decrease of 17.6 percent to $ 17.6 million.

State -wise, gaming profit preserved its driving of 48 months in a row over $ 1 billion by $ 1.22 billion, a reduction of 9.3 percent from a year ago, when Nevada had its best February ever.

Not every southern Nevada market fell. Mesquite increased by 2.8 percent to $ 16.5 million and Laughlin improved 0.4 percent to $ 42.2 million. Remove Clark County, which includes Henderson and Southwest Valley, home for Durango, open for 14 months, climbed 1 percent to $ 144 million.

Some of the tourism numbers were affected by convention rotations when some shows were here at different times.

“The Las Vegas Convention Presence reached approximately 615,000 in February, a decrease of 19.5 percent year over the year, which partly reflected the calendar effect of the World Market Center’s winter exhibition (38,000 participants) and Total Product Expo (8,000 participants) which ended in January this year against February last year,” said Bagger. “In addition, show rotations were held by the International Roofing Expo (15,000 participants) and the National Automobile Dealers Association (22,000 participants) elsewhere this year.”

Bagger said that the occupancy reached 80.5 percent, a decrease of 3.4 points with this weekend’s coating of 86.4 percent (down 3.9 points) and Middadkan’s occupancy of 77.7 percent (down 3.3 points).
