The United States will be the host nation of the World Cup 2031, said FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Thursday.

Infantino also announced that 2035 Global Soccer competition will take place in the UK.

The United States presented the only bid for 2031, while the joint bid from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland was the only “valid” bid for 2035, Infantino told the Uefa Congress in Belgrade, Serbia.

Infantino said that the US bid may “potentially” include other Concacaf members.

“The road is there for the Women’s World Cup to take place ’31 and ’35 in some large countries and some major nations to increase even more women’s football movement,” he said.

Technically, the bids must be formally approved in a vote at next year’s FIFA Congress, but it seems to be a predetermined conclusion without other valid tenderers.

The United States was previously hosting the Women’s World Cup in 1999 and 2003. The UK will host for the first time.

“We are honored to be the only bidder for Women’s World Cup 2035. Host for the first FIFA -VM since 1966 with our Hemnals partners will be very special. The hard work is now starting to put together the best possible bid at the end of the year,” said England FA’s CEO Mark Bullingham in a statement.

2027 Women’s World Cup will take place in Brazil with 32 teams and 64 matches from June 24 to July 25.

Spain is the defending master after breaking through for his first women’s World Cup title 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.

2031 Women’s World Cup will expand to 48 teams.

2026 Men’s FIFA -World Cup will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
