Veteran NFL broad recipient Kadarius Toney was arrested last week on charges that he suffocated a woman during a dispute in January, according to several reports on Wednesday.
Toney, 26, was arrested and booked on February 6 for bills of aggravated assault strangulation and obstacles/harassing 911 calls, according to police register in Douglas County, GA. His bond was set at $ 25,000 on each bill, and he was not detained on February 7, according to the county register.
Court documents seen by the media said that Toney pressed the women’s neck “with enough power to get her not to breathe, leave red marks on her neck and cause Petechial bleeding in her eyes” during a January 14 -incident in Douglasville, GA.
Toney took his phone to prevent her from calling the authorities, TMZ reported.
Drawing options were issued on January 15.
Toney spent part of last season with Cleveland Browns, who signed him on September 9. He alternated between the exercise group and the active list. He had zero catches on a goal as well as two rushing attempts for minus-4 laps in three matches.
He was released on December 10, two days after a loss to Pittsburgh Steelers where Toney was punished 15 meters to track for a score and also muffled a point.
Injuries and off-Field issues have injured Toney’s career. New York Giants chose him with the 20th overall choice of 2021 NFL draft from Florida.
Toney has 82 career receptions for 760 meters and three touchdowns as well as 23 rushing attempts for 115 meters and a TD in 35 games with regular season (10 starts) for Giants (2021-22), Kansas City Chiefs (2022-23) and Browns (20244 ).
He also has seven catches for 50 meters and a touchdown in three playoffs for the Super Bowl Champion Chiefs 2022. Kansas City released him on August 27, 2024.
