Ekaterina Alexandrova upset colleague Russian and No. 6 seeds Mirra Andreeva 6-3, 6-2 in 65 minutes to reach the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix quarter final on Thursday in Stuttgart, Germany.
Alexandrova, 30, recorded his fourth top 10 victory in the season. She had 19 winners and eight aces while 17-year-old Andreeva fought with 24 unlucky errors and landed only 48 percent of her first serving.
Fourth-seeded Coco Gauff sailed past Germany’s Ella Seidel 6-1, 6-1 in 57 minutes. Top seed Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus won in a WALKER due to an injury to Russia’s Anastasia Potapova. American Jessica Pegula, the third seed, dropped Poland’s Magdalena Frech 6-1, 6-1 in 59 minutes. Fifth-seeded Jasmine Paolini from Italy defeated Germany’s Jule Niemeier 6-1, 7-5 in one hour, 26 minutes.

Suzan Lamens in the Netherlands struck by other-seeded Linda Noskova in the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-1 to qualify for the quarter final in Rouen, France.
Lamens saved four out of five break points, while Noskova saved six of 11. Lamens won 81.8 percent of first service points (27 out of 33); Noskova was 56.8 percent (25 out of 44).
In other matches, top seeds dropped Elina Svitolina Medkrainian Anhelina Kalinina 6-4, 6-0. Third seeds Olga Danilovic from Serbia went three sets to defeat Czech Linda Fruhvirtova 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 and Fifth-seeded Moyka Uchijima from Japan gathered for a 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 victory over France’s Lois Boiss.
