Yankees RHP Gerrit Cole to undergo Tommy John -Operation

The New York Yankees Ace Gerrit Cole will undergo Tommy John operation on his right elbow on Tuesday and will miss the 2025 season.

Cole, 34, was in Los Angeles on Monday to meet Dr. Neal Elattrache, which will perform the operation.

The typical recovery for Tommy John operation is 12-18 months. In a statement on Monday, Yankees said that further updates on Cole’s status will be released after the procedure.

Cole, a six-o’clock All-Star, has four years and $ 144 million left on its nine-year contract of $ 324 million.

He reported discomfort after his last spring outing on Thursday, where he allowed six runs over 2 2/3 rounds against the twins.
