Jaren Jackson Jr. Scored 31 points, GG Jackson added a season high 27 and yes Morant had 25 points to lead the values Memphis Grizzlies past San Antonio Spurs 128-109 on Monday.
Morant, who missed the two previous games with a right shoulder injury, shot the 9-for-18-inclusive 4-for-6 beyond the 3-point short-and ended with 11 assists. Rookie Center Zach Edey contributed 16 points and 14 boards.
Grizzlies played without Desmond Bane, which missed the game because of a sore left ankle.
Victor Wembanyama, who set out San Antonio’s loss to Miami Heat from Saturday with an illness, led Spurs with 27 points and 10 return-his eighth straight doubles. Stephon Castle added 21 points, six returns and five assists.
San Antonio lost for the seventh time in nine matches. Newly acquired Spurs guard De’aaron Fox was not yet with the team.
Memphis, like others behind Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference, won his sixth straight match at home, where Grizzlies is 21-5. Grizzlies has won nine of their last 10 in total, and they improved to 7-1 during the second night by Back-to-back sets.
In front of 12 at half, Grizzlies held a double -digit in the majority of the third quarter. They led 83-67 late in the period after a 3-pointer by GG Jackson and were not challenged during the fourth quarter, where they built a 21-point advantage.
Although they were beaten with seven early in the opening quarter, Grizzlies grew 58-37 in the second after a 19-0 driving. Jaren Jackson Jr got 10 points below the over voltage. GG Jackson logged the last five in the 19-point sequence.
Before Grizzlies could distance themselves further, San Antonio recovered with his own driving. Castle operated on his hand a 12-0 distance, scored the first eight points and helped with the next two baskets. San Antonio had been almost seven minutes without scoring points before driving that sliced the deficit to 58-49.
Jaren Jackson Jr got 21 points during the first half, including 15 during the second quarter. Morant had 14 of her first 17 half points during the opening quarter.
The spurs received 14 points and seven returns during the first half from Wembanyama.
The beginning of the game was delayed 40 minutes by a medical emergency at the court with a spectator sitting on the front row opposite the team benches. Medical staff were called Courtside and the spectator was administered CPR while players for both teams were on the track and prepared for the beginning of the game.
Officials sent the team to their dressing rooms before taking them back about 20 minutes later to go through heating again.
